For everything else, there's...

Cost of transportation to reach the booth: Rs. 276

Price of two 'Nimbooz' to rehydrate: Rs. 30

Showing your middle finger to the World and feeling proud about it: Priceless!

For everything else, there's ample time and motivation; but for voting there are only excuses not to.

PS: Do you have any idea how difficult it is to photograph your own middle finger?? :)

  2. @Smita: Hi! Welcome to my blog, or the comments section at least! :)

Seriously, it is that difficult. I nearly tripped over myself doing it! LOL! Am thinking of suggesting it to the next contortionist I meet...

Thanks! I haven't missed an election since I turned 18; intend to keep voting as long as I can.

Hmm...I smell an excuse...:D. Well, try harder! The local elections will be coming up shortly, and I don't see the next Gov't lasting five years anyway!

  3. Well I haven't voted till date....always been very opinionated as far as politcs is concerned...Am a strong supporter of BJP (even had ABV poster on my hostel cupboard :D).

But have been moving fron one city to another and never got into getting myself registered...but then I know I am making excuses because I never really tried hard. This time I will :-)

And yes I have visited the blog quite a many times. Wrote a comment (almost) in the last post but never posted it :-) thanks for the welcome though.

  4. @Smita: Hey! "Comment First. Think Later"!! :) I've been lurking around your blog for awhile too! Nice blog you have there!

Thank you very much. Good to know someone besides me is reading all this!

Well, I turned 18 at the place I had been living at for about 12 years then, and being caught in a fortuitous election drive, got my registration done in a jiffy. Now, even though I don't live there anymore, I go back every election to vote. Guess I am a hopeless optimist where voting is concerned, but then, locally I do see lot of work done by the politicians, so it's not all bad.

ABV poster!! What about poor Salman Khan?? :D I've gone from supporting Congress to being totally ambivalent and opportunistic (as much as one voter can be), focussing purely on local issues. Lucky you! I've never been able to form an opinion in this regard that I could justify to myself. :(

All the best with your registration efforts!
